Yeah but I think its far better that minor ancillary titles be delayed than, I dunno, "Action Comics, "Batman", "Wonder Woman"... any of those ringing a bell in regards to delays and fill-ins? But this is a whole other thread, so I'll leave it there.

Yeah, Charlie, I was a DC-for-lifer too, once. Then, if you will, they went NWO on me. It's all a question of how much you're willing to stand.
You say Marvel is worse. Again, I'll have to take your word for it, and again, that's not saying very much.

I'm not sure that this would go down as a 'Worst Comic Book Moment', but Mom INSISTS that I post it. See, she bought me a boxful of comics and tried reading a few, though none really caught her interest--except for one. She picked up an 80-page comic that she absolutely fell in love with. Countdown to Infinite Crisis. Beautiful book. It was both of our first time reading the Blue Beetle. Problem was... ...they told the story in the first person. And she and I both loved the Blue Beetle. Then it got to the end and.... "WHAT?! WHO WRITES A STORY IN THE FIRST PERSON AND THEN KILLS THE GUY?!?!" Yeah. We were both a little upset. Well... she was a lot upset. :-P Anyways, she just remembered this thread, and insisted this outrage be known. I argued that at least Ted's death meant something-- unlike many other pointless ones, like Stephanie's murder. But... whatever. Actually, I've fallen in love with Beetle, though when asked which issue I fell in love with him in, I hear it's 'just wrong' to fall in love with a character in the issue he dies in-- in what is 'practically his deathbed'. Lol.

She read countdown, Blue Beetle became her favorite superhero... and then gets KILLED! She was pretty upset at that.

Haha. It was the ONLY comic Mom was liking. I fell in love with him, too, in that issue, which Ramon said was totally wrong. But he's so KEWL!!! in that comic!

...I have to confess, I'd never been a huge fan of Beetle before that issue, and that was when I finally started to like him before... Kablam. So you have company. ...Between Steve Rogers, Bart Allen and Ted, this seems to have happened a lot to me in the last few years...

Ted Kord is a hero. Is. Because he's still alive... ... Somehow

What you need to understand about Imari calling me wrong is that she has only read one comic book with Ted Kord in it. Want to guess which one?

Countdown to Infinite Crisis...?
Heh. I look back at Justice League, and it's such a shame that's how the character was degraded. Because that's what Justice League did, it sold big (I assume) and it made the characters a joke. But that's why the arcs with Despero and others were so fantastic, because you weren't expecting them. It's just a shame that those kind of stories weren't par for the course until Morrison unleashed them again and again during his run on JLA. I can understand comic relief issues, but comic relief series? Not as damaging as BIFF! POW! FLRBBBBB! KER-PLOP! but still...
But that's just my opinion, and off topic too! Apologies.

But after Legends, didn't they go up? New team, new direction etc? I'm talking 80s!
