Oh, and that may be true, (the N64 part) and I feel your pain on the sales of your N64. I know that if my grandparents sold their NES I would be ticked. But the great thing is the Wii will be able to download NES, SNES, Genisis, Turbografx-16, N64, and Gamecube (and hopefully link up to the DS). You don't need to make angry remarks about your N64. In November, the Wii awaits you... Not gonna' get it... Doesn't take my fancy... Mine is completely original!!! How dare you insult me like that!!! Hippo's are superiorness!!! From now on you may all refer to me as His Lordship Sir Robness the Superior! Uh... Heh. Nuh-Uh. And by the way, I'm sick of being insulted like I have been. Shouldn't all you guys with your fancy 3 stars, 4 stars, and 5 stars be watching out and standing up for us lowly 1 stars. For just about every comment I've made, e.g. *quote* You're an idiot *quote*, *quote* Ladies, please! *quote*, and now *quote* Your screen name is running on a fad that ended ages ago. Bloody dancing hippo... *quote*. Whether it's sarcasm or not it still hurts on the inside. You guys are not convincing me of this being a very good or friendly forum. So if this is what it's like, I might leave and go back to my other forums where at least I'm treated like an equal! Dude, I've taken a break from insulting my 3,4 and 5 star amigos to give you some jive! Feel the love! Being a 3/4/5er doesn't mean your special, it doesn't mean you're higher up on the scale, it means you post too damn much (insulting: Ramon, Dave, Brandon, Scott, Brian, John, Ellen and myself!)! Anyways... It was an irritating ring tone, and an irritating animation, so my opinion is valid There you boys go running off the new blood again with your hijinks! Ramon obviously owns stock in Sony and Charlie must be addicted to Zelda slash fic. ;D Only the ones you write, Brand

I doubt a small kid would be able to get ANYWHERE in the newer Mario games. That's why they're creating the Wii. To do just what it sounds like. "We", together, everyone. Little kids are bound to get caught up somewhere in the fray for the Wii.

To be fair, it really has to be difficult to find hippo themed gifs, avatars, etc. Now say if you had "monkey" in your username you'd have loads of animated gifs and whatnot to choose from.

Ok... I'm gonna make another point. I was just watching Gamer Elite 3 on Newgrounds, and I noticed something that caught my attention. Here's the gist of the tale. This guy named Kevin needs to save the gaming universe. To do this he must utilize the power of the "Power Pad" which is an NES gun, a Power Glove, and a generic controller on a belt. To achieve the Power Pads full potential, he must collect a series of four codes to achieve power ups. First he entered Mega Man X's world and received a sword much like Zero's. Then he went into Sonic the Hedgehog's world and received a force field much like the Sonic power up. Anyway, his first reaction is "What?!? No Grenade Launcher? No Heat-Seeking Ninja Stars?" and his partner Lana says "You know, there's more to life then just blowing people up." I think that's exactly the kind of reaction that earlier spread around the forum about blowing peoples heads off and the new "mature" attitude Sony and Microsoft started earlier. I just wanted to share that with you all.

I've been away and too tired to skim through this entire thread, but in case any doesn't know, this is why the PS3 and the X-Box 360 even out eventually.
306: 300 to 400 bucks, but the 400 is much better buy. Has X-Box Live, it's biggest feature, but you pay any annual fee for that (and isn't it over 50? I heard from someone that Live is 69 99 a year on 360). Has HD components, plays DVDs, is backwards compatible, and has great graphics. Wireless controllers to boot. Uses memory sticks.
PS3: Is 500 to 600 bucks, 500 for 20 gb harddrive, 600 for 60 gb harddrive. Has online system that connects you to a collection of old games just like 360 or the Wii, and has an interface for online multiplayer games, and you will NEVER pay for online fees ever (which means that should X Box Live be 60 bucks or more, you will even out a $400 X-Box to a $600 PS3 within 3 years). It has Bluray for it's disc drive and has been confirmed by various magazines and the like as the most powerful software out there for next gen or otherwise. It's wireless controllers also have some motion detector software so the PS3 can know how it's tilted, it's distance, etc, which will most likely inspire some games or mini games in titles. PS3 is backwards compatible and has dvds, and might be able to burn, I'm not sure. Plus the memory sticks or the same ones Sony's been making for years, and the same one that can be used in PSP handhelds.
Now, besides warring over X Box and Microsoft, I have to say the Wii will be the most innovative and cheapest.
It is actually 250 dollars or less they're saying right now (great buy compared to either competition) and is backwards compatible to gamecube I think. It doesn't concentrate on graphics (which is the most reason the other two are expensive) but more on innovation andgameplay, and we've all seen what it can do. I don't really have to see much on the Wii but that it's damn good.
My minor details might not be as accurate from the last I heard of this info, but my prices and big details are spot on. I personally think Microsoft is a little afraid of the Sony because of its power, because the big two think that graphics and suc his the biggest key. Hopefully we'll be getting even mroe deep and unique gameplay in future games.
But I'm willing to bet that when the PS3 debuts, Microsoft will want to distract fans, whic his why I think the president of Microsoft backed the Nintendo Wii, because it'd be better for him for consumers to buy their system and Nintendos instead of Sony's. Microsoft will do one of a few things in addition to releasing Halo 3 at the same time (which is what they're doing):
1) Sell the 360 cheaper.
2) Sell 360 in a bundle package with the ps3.
3) Make a deal for Halo 3 to be cheaper or special or to come with some offer.
Let's see if I'm point on.

Thanks to all who wished me a Happy B-Day. Any way it was great and I am currently on vacation in Abilene. I got Metroid Prime: Hunters and am currently debating posting my friend code for all owners of the game who wished to get School'd or pwn'd . Thanks again!

No, it is not backwards comp. to just the Gamecube. It is backwards comp. to all Nintendo systems except Virtual Boy, plus most Genisis and Turbografx-16 games (Sega Systems). Just wanted to clear that up.

For once Ramon, I agree with you. I think that the XBox 360 isn't living up to the representation that was believed after it's announcement. I personally prefer the original XBox if I had to choose between those 2.

I haven't read this thread properly so I will have to apologise if this has been said before.
My vote is PS3, the 360 has too many problems and not enough decent games at the moment or even in the future. The Nintendo Wii, stupid name and all, is NOT a next gen console. It is current gen with a new controller. There will be no graphics or sound improvement. I won't vote for what is practically a step-backwards in entertainment. If I want to wave a stick around and play "virtual" tennis with my girlfriend I might as well just go play tennis. They should have released it as an add-on for the GC or as part of an actual next gen console.
I have also heard through the grapevine that extra Wii controllers and add-ons will be expensive. Controller's coming up to new game price and the add-ons around the same as budget games. The only point to having a Wii would be to play the old games or to play new ones with lots of friends. Who could afford to have lots of friends playing if the controllers cost as much as a game?
I vote PS3 as I want to play Final Fantasies. Good ones. Crystal Chronicles does NOT count. It's also region free, meaning I can buy all the old games I couldn't in years gone by like FF tactics and Chrono Cross (I don't remember which was the original and which was the sequel so I apologise in advance) and I want to play the DC MMO Sony are getting. All in all Sony has all my votes, old games I wanna play, new games I wanna play. The only bad point is the price, which is a little extravagant. Although the Blu-Ray, which I would use, makes up for this.

well done. nintendo has been trying to play the add on games for a long looong time and its getting rather annoying. like back on the 64 when there was a rumble pack and all kinds of crap for the back of the controller and it's always pretty damn lame, i figured the attachments would be pretty pricey though, the minute i saw the controller had a seperate analog stick i said to myself, "oh, now it makes sense".
The PS2 will be expensive but its because you know it will be a good system, the Weeeeeee just looks gimmicky like virtual boy.

Exactly. Nice to see a rant against Nintendo backed up, as most online forumites are Nintendo apologists. Noticed that my longer Spidey 3 rant has gone untouched though lol, everyone's probably afraid of me now.

Your complaining that the extra Wii controllers might cost too much, when you're willing to pay $600 for a system that has nothing new but prettier graphics? It's got a motion sensitive controller too. I'm not going to buy a current gen console with a new and possibly not very improved control system for the same price I paid for my GC. I say not improved as it looks great for tennis and crap but I wouldn't want to play Metroid Prime on it. PS3 will be £450 over here and it has a blu-ray DVD (which I would use), and blu-ray DVD players are at least £1000. For other people I can see it might not be worth it but for me it is. And it's not just graphics. It has better sound and the controllers are new and improved but still keeping the familiar and common design. Also with MUCH more processing power (enough to qualify it as a super computer in the 90s and roughly ten times that of PS2) we'll be able to do a whole lot more in games. Racing games with fully interactive crowds, fighting games where you become more and more bruised and battered and in the places where you were hit, that game that was previewed at E3 where you watch a petrol tanker destroy a cafe and you are playing the game as this happens. All you have to do is watch the Final Fantasy XIII trailer and you will see why PS3 is a neccessity for me. It just seems like almost everything Wii does, Sony has done but with a more graphically capable console. They even still have total backwards compatability and, in my opinion, some of the best games ever have been released on PS1/2. It also links up to PSP in a much cooler way than any revealed DS linkup with Wii. You can use the thing as a rear-view mirror in GT for heck's sake!

Not only can you play your Gamecube games on it, but you can also download games from the NES, SNES, N64, Turbographix 16, and Sega Genesis systems. Ps3 has 2 systems worth of downloadable games. Wii has 5. Nintendo hasn't revealed anything about the DS link with Wii, so it's hard to judge which console has the best link capabilities. The Wii's motion sensing is much more advanced than the PS3's motion sensing. Prettier graphics have never meant better games. It's why people still play their NES, SNES, N64, Genesis, PS1, and even Ataris! It's all in the game design. Graphics do help, but I'd rather be immersed in the game by using the new Wii controller, than be more of a spectator to a game that just has prettier graphics.
