With the E3 Electronics Expo going on in LA right now, I was wondering what people think will be the best next-generation video game console. This seems to be a very big topic, and I figure a poll on an un-video game related message board would give a better idea of the general public's view of the Next-generation of video games.
My vote goes to the Nintendo Wii. Not only is it made by Nintendo (the best video game company ever IMO) but I think the new revolutionary controller will completely change the way we play and think about video games.
So what are your thoughts?

I haven't played any of them, but just from what I've heard about the graphics and general improvements I'll have to say PS3.

The Wii. The controller rocks and I haven't seen a single game so far that doesn't look enjoyable for it. SSBB is going to rock so hard...

I've NEVER seen a launch as good as the one the Wii's going to get (too bad SSBB will only come in a few months after launch, as Melee did). The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Red Steel Super Mario Galaxy Madden Wii Excite Truck Wii Sports Let me tell you...at launch, I'm going to have a tough time deciding what I want my first game to be.

I'm going to go with the Nintendo Wii. The controller looks cool, and the games scheduled for the lauch all seem to be great choices. Another great feature of course will be the ability to download old NES and SNES games. I can't wait for it.

what kind of question is this? the wii or whatever is a childs toy! ps3. *Sarcasm on* Not the kiddie argument! Anything but that! (hides in the corner) *sarcasm off* Are you seriously going to buy that 600 dollar PS3 over the cheaper, much more interesting Wii, especially with it's killer line-up and classic games? And Nintendo is anything but kiddie. E stands for everyone... Do they need to release a GTA clone to be seen as cool? Also for another poll about this take a look at the poll on www.Gamespot.com

why is it the nintendo fanboys always say nintendo is for everyone? they make pokemon, pikmin, and nintendogs for god sakes. let me ask you this, what mature person goes, "oh look, nintendogs! i need a game where i play with a cute digital puppy!"
and no, they dont need a gta clone to be seen as cool, they need to do something cool for a change.

We say it's for everyone for two main reasons... 1] It is. 2] The Sony and Microsoft fanboys always say it's kiddie. Why the heck do you think it's kiddie? I don't see why you think Pikmin is kiddie. Pokemon is a decent game but a crappy show. I can see why you say Nintendogs is kiddie but it's actually a decent game. Just look at the reviews. Heck try the game out before you bash it. Also, out of all the games Nintendo's made over the years you come up with three examples that I don't even agree with. E is for everyone EC is for early childhood. Does Nintendo need to make more M-games to be considered cool in your opinion. Does Mario need to be blowing people's heads off with rocket launchers for you to consider Nintendo cool? One last thing... Sony and Microsoft wouldn't be making games (Heh, Sony making games....) if it weren't for Nintendo.

I hate the new "mature" attitude Microsoft has started. If you're not blowing people's heads off, Microsoft fans consider it "immature". How can it be considered "immature" to play a game that you actually have to think in? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with bloody FPS, but everyone is so closed-minded to other genres. Take platforming, for example. It seems people get considered "immature" for playing Mario--easily the greatest platforming series EVER. But yet, there's so much to this series. I doubt a small kid would be able to get ANYWHERE in the newer Mario games. "The Legend of Zelda" is another great example of how much fun a game can be without being bloody. None of Nintendo's core series have blood in them, but they're all some of the best series ever created.
And while most games from Nintendo fit into their "everyone" category, there are always some that offset the balance. When they come out with "Nintendogs" for the DS, they balance it off by releasing games like "Metroid Prime Hunters" or "Resident Evil: Deadly Silence".

They had plenty of mature games on the SNES and Genesis (Mortal Kombat?), people just notice it more now that video games are a more popular form of media.
I'm most excited about the Wii. The games look extremely fun and original, plus the price puts it way ahead for me. Without a doubt, this is the system I'll be buying come November.

I'll have to say that the Wii sounds pretty interesting. It's very smart of Nintendo to drop out of the one-up-manship of Sony and MS and start trying to be innovative again and try to make games that will appeal to a broader fanbase than the hardcore gamers. With a family I would probably consider getting the Wii simply because it looks like it will have such a wide range of games, and currently owning an Xbox I know how hard it can be to find games for younger players.

Wow, this got kinda heated I guess you could say lol. It's all in your opinion, personally, Mario and and Zelda don't do anything for me. I prefer games like Tomb Raider, which is coming out for Nintendo but it will always be a Playstation game. The price tag for the PS3 is way to steep for me but when the PS2 came out, I waited a year and a half for the price to reach something reasonable. I won't die if I don't get the PS3 right away so I can wait. But Like I said, it's all in your opinion. Someone might say Nintendo is for everyone and other's might say it's not for them.

I'm not going to comment on what has been said previously, but I put my vote on Sony's PS3 because I've been loyal to them since the N64/PSOne era, but I do say that Nintendo as always is coming out with somethnig great, and so it comes in close second to me.
I Don't think of X Box highly, not because I'm a Sony guy, but because of the company itself. I didn't think it was cool to prettty much buy out the PC gaming world (Microsoft pretty much can make double the money by making most of their games for X Box and PC while Sony and Nintendo can't). I know its capitalism but I don't like it. Imagine if Bungie went on uninterrupted, Halo would be more maybe all three consoles, but Microsoft bought them out while they were in development for Halo. I also feel like most people who go with X Box are always shutting out the other two console for some reason. Don't judge this statement, just my experience so far, not saying every Micro-guy does this.
I think all the consoles will be really good but my favor goes to PS3 and Nintendo.
By the way, when did the Nintendo Revolution become the Wii? I missed that.

Why don't you pick Twilight Princess? Here are 2 reasons I'm getting the Wii and Twilight Princess (2 for each thing) Wii: 1. The Wii is cheaper... I'd rather pay $150 for a bad system (curse my lips for saying it) than $600 for the *sarcasm on* Awesome *sarcasm off* PS3 2. The controller ROCKS HARD Twilight Princess: 1. It's released with the Wii 2. If it doesn't live up to it's given image the Apocalypse will arrive!
