I think he actually handled the Jason Todd thing WAY better than a lot of other writers would have.

I agree BC, but I really wish they would finally let us know exactly how he came to be back. Or did I miss it?

James Robinson is going to be writing Batman and Detective!! I have mucho love for that guy, and can't wait for his return to the DCU. Here's me hoping for a new Starman book! "Starman from the Future"! Much love.

Dude! Where'd you find that? I bet that's the new Robin costume OYL!!!
Let me just say... wow. That's a really really good design. I'm a little stunned actually. Great job to whoever worked that up because that is the most sensible and iconic Robin suit I've seen in quite a while.

The funny thing is how much it resembles the Earth 2 costume of the adult Robin.

i was also thinking of how amazingly cool it was. as for earth two... not reallly. its just the best robin costume ive seen in a while and i wonder how come no one has done something that simple yet. i am not sure whether or not that is drake though. whoever is in charge of telling people how old the little bugger is, isnt. every time i see him he is 20 12 or 5.

I read an article saying it wasn't Drake but someone new. But it does resemble the red, black, and yellow one he had on the Batman New Adentures cartoon.

I read an article saying it wasn't Drake but someone new. Newsarama interviews the next Nightwing scribe, Bruce Jones: NRAMA: How do you view Dick Grayson/Nightwing? BJ: You’re assuming, of course, that Dick Grayson is Nightwing. Ya get nothing from me, ya lousy screws! NRAMA: So there's a possibility that Dick isn't Nightwing? BJ: Next question. Could it be that Tim replaces Dick as Nightwing? Then a new Robin is chosen. But what happens to Dick?

Just read "All-Star" Batman #3... I will admit this issue was much better. Batman refrained from bitch slapping Dick Grayson & Black Canary looked damn fine while kicking the crap outta scumbags.
So to summarize:
Issue 1: Not bad Issue 2: Utter Crap Issue 3: Fun with Black Canary!
Is it bad that the issue I enjoyed most only had 4 pages worth of story progression with Bats & Dick?
I just get this creepy child molestor vibe off of this version of Batman. Frank Miller is a strange man.

i think its more of a batman who is excited to be batman, hes still young and learning his way. i would even call it an edgy version of the campy tv show... but that would not be right.

I agree. Black Canary was excellent in this issue. Plus, a few more pretty Jim Lee pictures of the incredibly versatile Batmobile. I liked it and am still buying it for now, but I need the story to go somewhere very soon!

I bet if Frank Miller was writing this on the DC2, he'd have been blasted off faster than a certain Joe Kubert loving so and so...

His stories... They have zero character progression between the two title characters. He can't seem to stick to one idea, and he's constantly throwing new ones at the reader. I bet the editors just let him do whatever he wants as Frank Miller means money...

I am normally, but not of this. I'm in awe of his writing on Batman, Daredevil and his early Sin City books but not anymore.
