you got that right! Some of the best lines I've read in a long time.
"That's for Phantom Lady, you sick son of a bitch"
Excellent!
"Holy crow, the boy is fancy?!"
LMAO!
It will be a dark day if Simone ever rights something sub-par.

I agree another amazing issue! The lip-lock between Bats & Dinah was priceless! He was probably speechless for the first time in years...
As far as Gail's writing goes, I'd agree with that statement, except for her run on Legion. Although that was hardly her fault... she was filling in before the series was cancelled.

Anyone picked up the lastest issue? Since the aritists and the writer were guests, what did you think of their work? I really enjoyed this issue, all though I enjoy all them:P. I liked the story line and I also really liked how it had a large focus on Huntress. The only thing I didn't like with the art was Black Canary...the way they drew her hair wasn't to my tastes.
SPOILER!
It was sorta funny that the Royal Flush gang was featured in this issue, and here at the DC2 we have the Royal Flush in the New Outsiders. The world is a really small place.

You know Cheshire, I was thinking the same thing. My problem over at DC with the Royal Flush Gang is that in IC #3 (I think) they show Joker wiping the floor with the gang, who are in their traditional garb. Then in BoP they are around, but the newer version. I'd like to know what the heck is going on with them.
RFG was also mentioned in Firestorm this issue as well.
The issue itself was ok. I enjoyed it but will be glad when Gail comes back.

Same. It never really said where they came from or how, they just magically came to be...lol And the cover...that man who is tied up, is that suppose to be the kid? The person on the cover looks to be pushing fifty lol.
Same again. This is Gail's book and no one, not even the best writer in the world, can do great justice for this title other than her.

Exactly. The story was quite good, but it just wasn't the same.

I thought it was a valiant effort, but ultimately kinda flat. Didn't have that Simone snap!

So, who got OYL? I did and it wasn't really to my taste, the villians were kind of unrealistic. I like my villians being people not mutation animal things. But over all, I thought this issue was very strong. I liked all the time Huntress got. The art was very good, loved the cover.
SPOILER!!!
I guess Black Canary took Lady Shiva up on her offer. Canary was at some place in Asia and then sent her in the middle of this ring with a bag on her head than she had to fight like 20 people off like that. And Lady Shiva had renamed herself the Jade Canary? Okay, couldn't she be a little more original...but anyways.

I really liked the latest issue. I thought Lady Shiva got some great lines and it was nice to see the Ventriloquist pop up.

This last issue of BoP was one of the best written to date! If anyone is not reading this, you really should. Simmone has taken Shiva and Gypsy and made them tough and funny.

i keep meaning to go back to BOP. I used to read it when it was a series of minis. What's the best jumping on issue?
Side note: what do you think of Black Canary in All Star Batman?

Actually #92 is a great jumping on point. It's the beginning of the one year later and the mystery's are there for everyone, not just those that have been reading it, so go, go, go...get it. Only book that runs a close second is Manhunter. IMHO.
Oh, and after the first two issue's of ASBAR I quit picking it up so I'm not sure I've even see that cover, but I'll take a look!

I'll pick it up. I noticed Gyspy appeared before the OYL jump in BOP so her inclusion makes sense on the new team.
I hope Babs stays in the wheel chair though. Too many characters who are disabled get "fixed" i.e John Stewart, Xavier.

Well, if they don't make it in BOP, I hope that Zinda and Shiva do a buddy movie. Those two rock!
This title never disappoints, but the only complaint I have is the cast is growing too much, so we get less of each of these characters (but everyone does seem to get some nice on-stage time).
Simone gets my vote for the most consistently entertaining writer working at DC today. Villains United was the standout IC mini, and the first issue of Secret Six was also top-notch! Loved her Action Comics run, too (though I'm a little turned off by John Byrne's art).
Why isn't she writing a Bat-title--- Nightwing, at least (which seems right up her alley)?

So what does everyone think of the departure of Canary? I really hope Huntress doesn't leave the team too and Zinda better not leave either because I doubt any writers will use her much. I'm really dissapointed in this change and if Big Barda replaces her spot, I'll be so mad. No offense to the artists or whom ever designed her costume, but I think it's got to be the most lame thing in the superhero universe.

I'm very bummed that BC is leaving the Birds. This has been my favorite book and favorite line-up for a really long time. I do hope that Gail adds Manhuntter (Kate). I would love to see her working with Helena and Babs.

But isn't Manhunter basically Huntress to an extreme? I don't pick up either book (I just don't have the money anymore!) but from the issues I read (I read both in the shop if I remember) they do seem alike.

Oh there's definately some similarities between Manhunter and the Huntress that first showed up at BoP central. Gail, however, has developed Helena into a woman who has been able to let her guard down a bit and trust others. Some of that anger and that chip that was on her shoulder, she has let go of.
Kate hasn't yet, which would make the interraction between the two of them very interesting.

I just keep resisting buying this book! I know it's my mistake, but now with Dinah gone, and Huntress and Oracle all alone... I think I'll stick with New Outsiders

That's very nice of you Charlie, but I think Gail is really still strong on this, even with BC leaving. And Huntress and Oracle are so not alone. Manhunter! And Big Barda, but Manhunter! I couldn't have been happier.
