I vote Babs.... I think she and Dick are pretty much made for each other.... although I'm sure many will disagree lol...
That said, while I do think she's the best choice, I think Dick's settling down with anyone (at least right now) in a relationship would be a mistake.... that whole love-triangle thing makes it that much more difficult for him, and, every hero has to have it tough in some way..... that's one thing I always agreed with Stan Lee on (but hey everybody gets one lol)

I've hated the direction they took the Cap books... as a matter of fact, my outlook on the Marvel world is this.... There is no Cap.... in my eyes, until Steve is back, Cap is dead and gone because Bucky has disgraced the mantle in every way......one of the many reasons there's only 1 marvel book on my pull (Captain Britain).... but, I've been down this road before, so I won't go into that again...

I just want a meaningful death to stick! Connor was one of those sticks!
Now, I don't mind bringing back some characters... ones who's deaths I, personally find meaningless (Captain America anyone?) but those like Colossus, Jean Grey, Supergirl, etc. should STAY DEAD! You're taking their moment of ultimate sacrifice and honor (the moment every hero lives for, I believe) and stripping it away.......again, don't get me wrong.... there are some instances where the death has no real meaning, and, in that instance, the character should be brought back ASAP without hesitation, but, the others... darn it, let them live on in our memories as some of the few who had what it takes to make the ultimate sacrifice....

I'm happier with Bart back..... I honestly wish they'd keep superboy dead...... first of all, I really didn't care for the direction they took the character in the last few years.... and I never likd the fact that his costume was a t-shirt (I liked the old one with the goofy haircut better).....
Anyway, that's not why I want him to stay dead, though...... His death had real meaning! So, I think undoing his and J'onn's deaths would be a disservice to them....
It's like when marvel killed collossus a few years back.... he gave his life to save the lives of millions! And, as much as I hated to see the big guy gone, I was even more pissed that they discredited his sacrifice and made it seem worthless.....
Now, that said, I'm all for some Batman coming back..... his death was really stupid and never should have happened that way.... if it had been a more...... for lack of a better word "honorable" death, I'd be fine with Bruce staying gone (although God knows I'd still miss him).....
But, I've already said that before lol

Well, here we are...the beginning of the end. Yes, that's right! This was the next to last issue of Robin:Betrayal. Next month all hell (literally) breaks loose on Earth as Batman and company try to hold off an assault on Gotham long enough for Robin to come through. This will be an extra-sized issue as well to wrap everything up....
Thanks to everyone who's stuck with me this far, through all my mistakes (and God knows I made a lot of them). It's actually kind of sad for me because, as of the end of next month, it will all be over.... sure, there's a continuation of sorts to follow, but I've grown quite fond of this story.... I've grown a lot as a writer since chapter 1 was released all those months ago and that's thanks partly to all of you who gave me your honest feedback, helping me hone my writing to where it now stands.... granted, I still have a long way to go, but I've come a long way as well....
See you guys again next month for the final installment!

Great work, Brian! Love the way you highlighted the fact that Ollie has a total disdain for drugs due to what happened to Roy. Looking forward to the next issue (with the utmost impatience) lol...

well well well.... my trade collection expanded a good bit today.... first of all, I went in and traded some comics, earning myself 20 bucks store credit.... Jason was, at first going to give me all the comics in my box this week (which totaled to about 13 bucks) plus one of the sandman trades (which he was going to give me for half price anyway) and put the store credit towards those, calling it even.... then he grabbed another of the sandman trades and said he'd throw in 2 trades, rather than just one and still give me the weeks comics for free.....
the greatness didn't stop there.... I got the other 5 volumes of sandman for half off...... then, I see the spin-rack he has set up for some of the marvel trades he has on sale... he tells me everything on the rack is 60% off.... I go over there to check it out... nothing too great at first, the first two trades from Straczynski's spidey run, plus some of the crappy morrson x-men run.... and a lot of fantastic four crap (did I ever mention how much I hate them?)... but, then, I come across two trades I've been dying to own... and here they are 60% off! two Captain America trades! Bicentennial Battle by the legendary Jack Kirby and Operation Rebirth..... so ,yeah, I got a killer deal on everything today.... even got the world's funniest trade for practically free..... and, while there, I thought "what the heck, why not pick up Superman:Emperor Joker"?..... so, without further ado, here's a list of everything I got today....
Sandman: 4-10 Captain America: Operation Rebirth Captain America: Bicentennial Battles Superman: Emperor Joker Superman and Batman: World's Funniest
oh, and volume 3 of Sand that Brian sent me finally arrived today as well...... it was meant to be lol... (thanks again, Brian... you da man!)

A great issue of RG! Anytime I see Scarface in the comics, I always jump at the chance to read the issue, so, this was no different.
One thing that bugged me though, was the point in the story where Scarface is talking about Blackgate, and he actually says "Blackgate" when he should say"Glackgate".. other than that, all of the g for b substitutions were in place......
The telling was a little weird in some places, but, overall a great story.... I give it 5 stars!

for the record, charlie, yes I have seen the art and it's not bad, but I NEVER buy a book based on the art... for me, the story comes first.....comics may be a visual medium, but the greatest art in the world can't help a crappy story... not saying the Rucka is a crappy writer or anything, I do like him, but I hate the batwoman character, so, I won't be picking it up.... But... but... JH Williams!! He's one of the most gifted, innovative, amazing artists in comics right now! His art puts so many others to shame! ...Someone put on the Star Trek fight music. I think I have a score to settle. lol sweet! I've been itching for some action since my workout today.... but I warn you... I don't fight fair.... lol -Cam-

as for the other statement... Paul Dini said in an interview (on newsarama I believe.... it's been awhile though) that DC pretty much came to him and said that they wanted him to come up with a character design for the "new" lesbian hero, batwoman...... If I can find that interview, I'll post it within the week..... the tricky part will be finding the darn thing.......
anyways, I stand by my previous statement..... just difference in opinion, I guess

First of all, I partially agree with Charlie, in that, yes what morrison said is true, it's everything circling around on itself.... BUT I don't think it should've ever happened.... Morrison is a tool for trying it in my opinion, but hey, nothing I can do about it, is there? so yeah, I agree with Charlie, but I still don't think Batman should've been put in that position....
As for the Gun-endowed Batman, I'm still not convinced that the gun-toting Batman is Jason Todd..... Remember the evil Batman that got away from Bruce right before R.I.P.? The "satan Batman"? I think it might possibly be him, but Jason isn't ruled out still.... As for the writing in the first issue of BftC, I thought the dialogue was horrible! That whole bit with Robin talking about the new Batman, saying
"But, there's one matter to clear up first. And that's to let the wannabe know that he's a wannaBEEN. Though your intentions are in the right place, friend, I'm sure we can come up with a new persona for you. Something like "Captain Phoney"... or maybe "Identity Complex Man"?"
I will say this about the issue though... I'm a big damien hater, so, it was nice to see him screaming mommy like a little baby when croc was about to chomp him......
But, again, I thought the Bat-books (with the exception of morrison's book) were all doing better than ever, and all of this has really slowed it down for me... I mean, Tomasi's Nightwing spoiled me big-time.... His is, without a doubt, the best personification of Nightwing I've ever had the pleasure of reading... And Dini's Detective was also great.... and, after the lack-luster Dixon run on Robin, Nicieza came in and blew me away!.... then, we get two of those title canceled, then, when Tec does come back, it's all about Batwoman..... Yeah, I'll be dropping that...
To me, she just isn't interesting at all.... part of that, I think, is the fact that she was pretty much created because DC wanted a prominent lesbian hero.... don't get me wrong, creating a great complex character and making her a lesbian as an after thought is fine, but just creating a lesbian character and building from there is a big mistake..... I think that's why she fails as a character...... anyway, I will say that I'm definitely looking forward to Gotham City Sirens.... can't wait to see how that turns out...
so, how about everyone lists the Bat-books they'll be picking up after BftC is over?
mine are... Batman Red Robin Streets of Gotham Gotham City Sirens Outsiders
what about you guys (and gals)?

wow.... going into this arc, I really didn't expect Man-Bat to be so well-received.... I mean, I consider Batman's rogue's gallery to be the best in the history of comics..... so many diverse and colorful villains, no two the same and each one bringing something cool and unique to the table.... even Zsasz had his moments!
So, since Man-Bat isn't one of the "heavy-hitters" like, say, Penguin or Two-Face, I was afraid he might be a disappointment, I'm glad to see that I was wrong..... guess it just goes to show you that, when you have an idea you're passionate about, just go for it, because if nothing else, you've written a story you can be proud of....
Thanks for reading, everyone!

Thanks UDC, glad you enjoyed my little romp through Man-Bat's last flight....
The reason I pretty much said that Man-Bat would attack during the day like that was because I wasn't going for surprise with the attack itself.... Rather, I wanted the surprise to focus more on how Terry reacts... I also wanted him to be stuck without his suit during all this so, for the first time during my run, he had to get by without his fists...
I guess the reason I tend to write shorter arcs is because of my Paul Dini influence... I've laways loved how his run on Detective was comprised of mostly 1 and 2 part stories (at least until the Hush arc).... The next issue after this will be a one-shot, but, after that, a slightly longer arc will kick-in..... as to what that arc is.... there will be clues at the end of the next issue lol...

Ok, so, when the idea for Man-Bat R.I.P. first came to me, I immediately knew how it would end. The ending was pretty much what I started with in this case. All I had to do from there, was set up the catalysts that would lead up to it....
That said, I was pretty proud of the way this ended. Granted, like all my work, it has its flaws, but I'm still proud of this little arc!
I've always felt like Man-Bat was misunderstood and underrated, and I wanted to bring him into Terry's world (for however short a time) a put him in the limelight.... now for some honesty....
I hated writing the ending.... it was so sad for me, because I really like the character and hated to see him go.... Sure, I could've kept him around and brought him in every now and then, but that, I felt, would be a disservice to the character, simply having him pop up whenever I thought it would be cool...... Kirk Langstrom is such a tortured soul that, I felt he finally deserved some peace... so, that's what I gave him.....
Oh, and, that last line in the story.... the comparison that Terry makes...... That was thrown in there for you, Zirron, in light of your suggestion a few months ago..... Thanks for that, I think it fit in well....

first of all, welcome to DC2 serafin! Chief was my editor on Batman Beyond until KD came back and helped me out a lot, so, any friend of his is a friend of mine!
If you're looking for new books to read, I suggest ANYTHING written my Peter Tomasi. In my mind he's the best writer at DC right now, bar-none. In the marvel section, there's only one book I'd really suggest and that's Captain Britain & MI:13. It's a brilliant book written by Paul Cornell......
And, of course, pretty much anything written by Geoff Johns is new-reader friendly, so you won't get lost. hope that helps!

well, that line was made cheesy on purpose, actually lol..... I was watching a good bit of Yu Yu Hakusho at the time I wrote this and I like the way they occasionally insert something kind of cheesy or funny that seems out of place at first, just to break up the monotony..... I tend to always laugh at the dialogue of ancient evil beings in movies and stuff, as it's all cheesy to an extent, and this was a homage to that.... Sorry if it ruined things for you, but I thought it was worth the risk.
Also, it's funny you mention the plot..... like I said, Yu Yu Hakusho has been a big inspiration for me lately. I like how the basic plots are very apparent from the beginning of the season, but still hold you in... you know how things are going to end, but you can't wait to see how it gets there....... then, of course, there are always some shocking, out of left field moments thrown in to keep you on the edge of your seat....... glad you're still reading though and I hope you enjoy the next chapter!
