Start over with #1, thank goodness! At least that way it won't associated with this trash!

Ha! Well I guess Bob Harras is trying his best considering the circumstances he's been given. He's basically been given the JLA in a hole, and he's struggling to drag them out. I would have pitted them against... Prometheus again. I could have written them... Hmmm....
Elseworlds plan!
Hee hee.

Anyone read JLA Classified #16 yet?
I hear Gail Simone originally penned this work for Justice League Unlimited. I'm curious to see how the rest of the issues pan out.
I was somewhat disappointed by the art. I was really looking forward to seeing Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez art again. The artwork isn't bad, it just looks hastily done. I would be curious to see the original pencils.
Any thoughts?

I agree on the artwork. The story didn't let me down at all; it's tales like these that make Gail Simone one of my favourite modern-day comic writers.

Compared to Bob Harras' finale to the last series, the first three issues of Brad Meltzer's has been a breath of fresh air, but like Identity Crisis and Archer's Quest, the format is the same... Can the guy truly do something really "original" without revisiting the past? Time will tell...

Can the guy truly do something really "original" without revisiting the past? Time will tell... I like ow he's using the League's past villains. The league has a long history, and I like that he's wiling to use it. --Spoilers-- Heck, look at Meltzer's roster! It's straight out of the Satellite Legaue: Supes, Bats, Wondy, Hal, Dinah, Hawkgirl...and his first arc is focused on the Red Tornado! I was always fascinated by those old incarnations of the League, but I can't get any back issues. I think Meltzer is drawing from the past, but he's not wallowing in it.

well the issue that was ALL about the past with the three getting together every year was nice but this has taken just a TAD too long to get where it is. i think his league is also just a bit... boring. the big three make sense and i guess its nice hal and diana back there but hawkgirl, tornado, vixen, and black lightning just seem off to me. roy just doenst make much sense as a fit in the league since they have taken him from a one time leader to the titans and outsiders and reduced him to a rookie. it just seems weird.

I found this issue to be the best yet. I think Meltzer finally put paid to his vision of the League, and I for one am pretty excited about it. High point: Roy's reaction (and Ollie's grown-up behavior"), and subsequent assumption of the Red Arrow name. Low Point: Flirting with Hawkgirl! A part of me wants to see where that leads, but another part is like: "But... Carter... will kill him!" High Point: Black Canary as Chairman! Yes! Terrific idea! High Point: The return of the Hall of Justice and the satelitte HQs! BUT: Is this another case of the DC2 anticipating the DCU--- or are there spies in our midst?!?! (Fess up, Arcalian--- we all know you're an alias for Didio ;D) (Kidding! Jay... why are you glaring at me like that...?) High Point: Multiversal refugee Val Armorr returns! (But wasn't he killed by Nemesis Kid? Not that that necessarily means anything ). Could it be that Karate Kid will join the JLoA? Really looking forward to the JLA/JSA/LSH crossover starting next issue (but am utterly confused where that leaves the Waid LSH reboot).

I read this late last night and have to admit when I saw the satallite and the Hall, I cursed. We must find out who the trojanhorse is around here. I enjoyed the issue a lot. I'm a big Roy Harper fan, and the fact that Meltzer acknowledged his special relationship with Dinah during his drug days, sold me on this issue. I did think, however, that he also pushed the Roy love a bit too much. There's a lot of fans who don't like Roy and would not have picked him as the Titan to graduate, so it did seem that Meltzer was kind of heavy handed. Also, not a fan of Kendra and Roy at all. The rest of it, was great though.

Heh. I am the Anti-Didio. Was there anything else with Geo-Force? I'm starting to wonder if somebody survived 52 by hiding inside his head....

It MIGHT be interesting if Terra survived in Geo Force's head (if that is what you are insinuating) but, no offense to you, I don't think anyone at DC believes theres an audience for Terra 2 (or 1 or whatever) anymore. They've got everything out of that property they can (I think that any real possibilities for Terra should have ended with the Judas Contract!), so they're starting afresh. Terra 3! Now, I like Meltzer's reasoning and hints for Geo Force's new powers, taken from Newsarama (and ooo pretty art): "Geo-Force and Terra were brother and sister, it was a storyline that I felt could be explored that was never really touched. Why did they have completely different powers if they got their powers from the exact same spot? It was just a lingering question to me, and something that I felt was there waiting to be done with the character that gave him a different voice than everyone else around him, so he just became interesting to me."

Personally, I'd prefer a Markovian connection with any Terra rebirth. A totally new character doesn't feel like they're honoring what is, essentially, a neat corner of DCU history, significant not only to the Wolfman/Perez Titans, but the Batman and the Outsiders series as well!
But, as we've already seen Terra (III), in a recent issue of Supergirl, I think I'm (and others, no doubt) doomed to disappointment.
I am interested at seeing where Meltzer takes Geo-Force, though.

I've liked the kind of messed up Geo Force I've seen. That "out of their mind" characterisation is always one I'm a sucker for... So I'll check it out...

I know that Didio doesn't beleive that, HoM, or more accurately I think he doesn't care. But Meltzer had previously written an essay on his own site on what kind of effect Tara had on him when he read her story. Which is what makes me wonder.
I know about Terra 3. That whole song and dance is part of what led me/drove me here. But any character can survive if a writer wants them too bad enough. Even if it's in a totally different form. It is, if you like, my last spark of hope.

I loved the cover for issue #7, the Ed Benes two covers. That was a great scene when Hal and Ginah gave Roy his new costume. Especially when Roy said, "I guess its time to join the family business and the family name." IMO, a great issue.

I seriously hope Meltzer does some good things with GeoForce's newfound connection to Terra, because that's the only good I can see coming from her death.
Another sensless stupid death under DiDio's tenure. So glad I didn't waste my money on WWIII. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought JLA8, which I defintiely enjoyed.
..Stupid DiDio.

Heh. I am the Anti-Didio. Was there anything else with Geo-Force? I'm starting to wonder if somebody survived 52 by hiding inside his head.... If some one is hiding in Geo-Force's head I think they should revive Max Lord, so he can shoot Geo-Force in the head. Maybe Terra should have stayed dead after the Wolfman/Perez run. Or maybe I can write a story that would erase her from all planes of realities including the multiverse. Mischief stands waiting for Jay to smite him...then runs crying like a baby.

*does not smite Mischief. Does not bother to point out she wasn't supposed to be the same Terra as the one Michief is referring to and that zero hour screwed that up. DOES, however, chase after Mischief with a large hammer.*

I think that if something is as confusing as that, and no one can be truly arsed to clear it up, then it's pointless arguing about it.

I could call that into Question, Charlie. ;D
Especially since Johns was arsed enough to do it, had Didio let him; and Meltzer's already written at least one essay on Terra.

*smiles thinly* Wait a few years, Chief. If her mini doesn't sell well enough, it'll be limbo then death for her, too.
Ask Spoiler or Ted Kord Blue Beetle or Pantha etc etc etc....

And if that happens, then I will write her death story. But I think that is not going to be the case. I think Jimmy Palmiotti/Justin Grey will be able to do something with the character, like they did with Captain Atom. Mischief

You would write Terra 3's death story? You wanted SBP to kill more characters? ....Why? No, don't answer that. Forget I asked. I either wouldn't understand the answer or it would scare the crud out of me.
