I like the fact that it's going to be focusing mainly on underestimated, second-tier characters...Here are my views on the characters:
The Question: I'm very excited about ol' Vic Sage! Renèe Montoya: I'm a bit doubtful about Renèe...she was a little boring and predictable in Gotham Central, but hopefully she'll be great here. Booster Gold: I've always loved Booster, so I'm eagerly awaiting his role. Black Adam: Another old favourite of mine...should be fun to see him positioned so prominently. Steel: I loved him in JLA and most other thigns, but if he's written badly...he's written VERY badly, in my eyes. He's gotta be spot on for me. Ralph Dibny: Never been a big fan of Elongated Man, so I'm not excited or angry to hear about his big role.

Cassandra Cain, as she just got stabbed in her own title. Of course, there is a Lazarus Pit right next to her...

Batwoman could be Flamebird as well as she was just whisked off to E2, as she certainly has the heritage for it. I'm thinking I will pick up the first 10 issues for sure to get the "History of the DC Universe" back-up but after that I'll have to see. I'm not sure I want to make the extra $10 investment every single month to get this whole series.

Me neither, but we'll have to see, won't we? I don't know what OYL books to pick up in March! 52 for sure (the question!) and Batman (james robinson!) and I dunno what else... Hmm...

I'll probably get suckered in and get the whole thing. I've also put Shadowpact on my pull list as well as Brave and the Bold (when it comes out), and the new Blue Beetle...I miss Ted...

Not that much cheaper though, Doc. At $2.50 every week that's $120 investment for the year. I keep a pretty slim comic budget trying to buy only the things I'm most interested in, and honestly, that's a sizeable chunk of the amount I've set for myself. With so many other OYL titles coming out I want to try on top of my regular books, it would be too much to take on that much extra expense for the entire year. Ha, of course, I'm the guy who hasn't changed his comic budget in over ten years so maybe this just makes me a cheapskate!

No i am pretty sure i am the cheapskate brand. not 10 but 9 bucks a MONTH. anymore and i get all nervous and crap. I can guarantee they can cut me out of the 52 line... but that wont keep it from selling like cheap pancakes. with butter.
ah didnt see your post, but thanks for the link. I didnt doubt it, i just hadn't heard it yet.

So, Issue one or "Week One" came out on Wednesday. What did everyone think? Personally, I thought it was great. I was surprised that a weekly comic had so much in the inside. I guess I wasn't too confident that they could pull it, but all of that skepticism is gone now.

Booster Gold had the main focus in this issue, and he was very amusing and funny at the beginning. It was great when he took a sip of that soda after he won his fight. The ending with the Question making the Bat-Symbol into the Question-Symbol was good to see, and I can't wait to see more of the Question in the DC Universe.

I thought it was a solid first issue. I think the cover is probably one of my favorites of the year, though.

Nothing sticks to that guy. And I'm putting my money down right now that Montoya ends up becoming Batwoman. Anyone? Anyone? ;D

Ohh, bets!!
I bet something really bad happens to Booster Gold because of his wrong information, like, say, dying...
I bet that Montoya WON'T become Batwoman.
I bet Natasha Iron dies.

Yeah, I don't like this. Read the invisible text to find out what I mean. - If it is the original Kathy Kane, doesn't it nullify a major part of the Bronze Tiger's history?
-If it's another Kathy Kane from a different earth, who now exists on Earth, isn't that a bit confusing? They might have well as brought back the Multiverse.

I was a little confused on that too, Doc. But I never read the book that the certain characters were used in, so I just figured it was me.

I'm digging Renee Montoya--- she reminds me of Ana Lucia from Lost.
So far, so good with this series (although their portrayal of the Question is a little bland--- I prefer Charlie's whackjob), and can't wait to see where they're going with Black Adam, and the Kryptonian Death Cult.
The covers are excellent, but the interior art is better than I expected (for a weekly)!

Tut tut, Dave... Kryptonian RESSURECTION Cult...
I missed last week (not got the money, going to see Metallica on Saturday!) so I've missed out on a good two weeks of 52 goodness (or I will do)...
Thanks for the compliment, Dave!

I was talking to dragonbat a while ago, and I stated that Darkseid and the New Gods would be the big mystery peoples of 52... I need to pick up #7 but who else thinks that all this might be leading up to the return of Darkseid?

I thought it was the now evolved MR. MIND. Remember he turned into a cocoon a while ago??
EDIT: Also, the monsters part, could be a reference to the Monster Society, or that thing, the enemies of Captain Marvel.

Or it could be EGG FU, agent of Apokolips But I think Mr Mind is coming back big time, but he'll need a bit longer than... Six weeks to grow into something new, you know?
