I've been switching off on which has my favorite cover of two each month. Mostly Perez.

i agree with scott. lets put it this way, if you went into the comic book store, and you saw both never having heard the names jim lee or george perez, whose would you pick up. on one there was power girl's back looking at a glass wall and on the other was powergirl with two supermen an aged lois superboy and a guy in a crazy gold suit. that makes me want to pick it up. on one there was shards of glass with faces and one the other a deranged superboy standing above iconic symbols of dcu. which ones have been consistantly more dynamic and powerful? jim lees.

Dynamic is EXACTLY the word I was searching for earlier Ramon! Excellent! Hit's the nail on the head! Say what you will about the man, his art makes you want to pick up his comics! He's like the perfect mesh of the classic comic style & the 'Image' style.
Not to mention that Lee's Power Girl is so much hotter than Perez's! ;D

I guess this goes here...so who is going to pick up Gail Simone's Secret Six mini? I'm really excited about this obviously because we're going to find out if Cheshire is alive or dead. I know she's alive lol! Anyone gonna pick up the Villains United tie in issue? I think I might, besides Birds and Nightwing, Villains United is my favorite story/comic.

of all the minis VU was definitely the best. Or at least it was the one that had my attention start to finish. second probably rann/thanagar but that is a steep drop. i doubt i will be gettin secret six because i am so cheap but if (WHEN!!!) they make a tpb, i will be there.

Yeah, I prefer having the TPB but with this, I just got to get it and see what the status is of Cheshire lol. They kind of hinted that Cheschire might still be part of the team. However, considering how she played them all for chumps, I can't really see it happening.

Gail said somewhere, that right now the team only has four memebers but calling it Secret Four would be stupid and she is planning to get two more. So I doubt Cheshire is on the team, maybe though.

I know she's on the cover, obviously we're going to find out what happened to her in this issue but I think that's purley just for marketing. She'll probably be in it for all of three pages I bet.

I bet Scandal's girlfirend will be on the team. I think that Cheshire will be involved, but difinitely not on the team. Floyd would pry shoot her if she showed up and asked them to forgive her. Maybe he'll just knee cap her. ;D

NO ONE!??! lets see, how does this go for spoilers?
SPOILERS Superboys get blowed up (one is for sure dead) Superboy prime was aged a few years when the flashes took him pointing towards the aged bart theory. Brother Eye is finally destroyed All them people on the tower are free which means... -Martian Manhunter is badass -Black Adam is badass we get quick glimpses of other worlds being sifted through alex was going crazy pyscho pirate gets killed Black Lightning finally explains "why's it gotta be BLACK lightning" Donna Troy was going freaky on a cosmic level We get a cool shot of ion...
anything else?
Oh thats right, there is only one planet called "new earth" after luthor's tower is punked. on it lay a dead superboy, batman (curiously no jordan who kinda gave him a lift), Supes of Earth 1, Supes of Earth 2, and Wonder Woman of Earth B*tch.
hows that for a spoiler wrap up?

Eh, don't read too much into that... it was the big 3, that's all. Anyone notice the 1 panel shot that pretty much destroyed FOREVER the DnA Legion? PISSED ME OFF!!! Oh well, take a deep breath... exhale... moving on with life...

Yeah, I figured that was it. You had the big three and their "children", but it still popped out at me. and here's another question I've been itching to ask... Kyle's mask.... Can't help but wonder what him and Donna have been doing? I just want to yell, "Hey Kyle! You've got a piece of Donna's costume on your face!"

Pretty good issue. Fun seeing the other Earths. Nice scenes with the second generation heroes (Conner, Dick, & Cassie). Superboy Prime is still totally cuckoo (if not a little dense). All very well put together.
But, I'm going to have to say it... I'm feeling a little disappointed.
For all the hype and lead-ins and build up, this is it? I'm not saying it's been bad. It's been a good story with very memorable moments, but I was really expecting something more. With hyping this as THE sequel to the original Crisis, I expected to see some really bold and dramatic shifts with DC in a story big enough to break the mold, and this just hasn't been it. All I'm really seeing from this and One Year Later is new faces in old (second string) costumes, some new heroes, some housecleaning deaths, and lots of little continuity tweaks. And that means it's accomplished little more than what Zero Hour did. The first Crisis broke the rules and rewrote the entire DC universe. This one seems like it's been one big character study that tried to go big, but then backtracked right back out so all we're left with is a slightly polished up DCU.
I guess there still is one issue left but I'm expecting the standard wrap-up with lots of action and few revelations. Who knows, it could be the Big One and I could be wrong but somehow I doubt it. It has been fun so far, but again has only reminded me more of how truly unique the first Crisis was and remains to be.

You know, I've been reading that alot lately on other boards. Was the hype bigger then the actual delivery? I agree that the story is good, although I'm not really a fan of Superboy Prime's hissy fits against the wall changes continuity. But hey, it's comic books, it's part of the package. I guess I, too, was expecting some big changes. Flash and Wonder Woman especially.
So far all I've seen is a nicer version of Batman and DC's persistence to totally screw Nightwing. There are some interesting mystery's out there, but you're right. Nothing that appears to have really shaken the core of the universe. Nothing that will make us say in twenty more years, "Remember the second Crisis? Man, was that a mind blower!"
Still, so far I give the series a solid B+. But that's just my opinion.

So far all I've seen is a nicer version of Batman and DC's persistence to totally screw Nightwing. Right. All the while telling you what a great guy he is. Ha. Glad to see someone else feels that way too. I haven't been on the Crisis board since last month so I didn't know there was a lot of chatter on this.

interesting, these are the same people who said there would be two earths come the end of this series... I put out a lot of theories trying to figure out where DC was going with this. It really was being made up to seem like anything can happen or there would be some real changes, and the direction DC was leading was hinting at bringing back the Multiverse (which they did, kinda, sorta, not really), but when all is said and done there just doesn't really seem like there will be many changes at all. Again, total Zero Hour.

So the more I think about IC the more dissatisfied I am with it. It's funny how this story started off with an almost metafiction vibe of the old school hero coming back to show the current heroes how they've become convoluted, compromised, and indistinguishable from villains as inspirational role models. A complaint doubling into comics that have used "grittier, more realistic" themes, gimmicks, and sensationalism to grab the attention of a fading audience. And then that's exactly what this series becomes. If a creative team devolves into graphic violence and stark language to make itself relevant to it's readers, what sort of precendent does that set? If this is DC's "new beginning" is there anywhere to go from here other than downhill? I fully expect a certain level of violence from certain types of media, like say from a Tarantino movie or a comic marked and geared toward a certain type of audience. But this is Superman and Batman and the biggest event of the year. Call me Old School, but is it really so outdated to prefer comics that attempted to capture the imagination instead of those that play into the lowest and most basic of human desires? Again, not really a matter of personal sensitivity or dislike of graphic violence, there is plenty of that around in appropriate places for it's fans. But, does Black Adam really need to put his hand through another character's head, blood and brains and eyeballs flying out, to tell a good story? It's seems cheap and sensationalistic. I see it as a failure when an artform remolds it's characters into rapists and murderers in a glorified manner. Was the intended effect of Black Adam's action to horrify you with the brutality of a psychopath? Or to elicit a simple "kewl". It's the general state of the industry I guess in the days post-NuMarvel. The Hulk doesn't just get mad anymore, he gets horny. Thanks Joe Q.
