What were you thinking?? chicken fajitas, actually... though, okay, to modify this post...i wonder if there are any major magic users near where the scarab is. I mean, could the scarab bring someone to life on it's own, or does someone need to channel magickal energies through it to use it to bring someone back?

Hmm... ON topic.... Well, Ramon and I were having a discussion (heated debate!!) about what Superman E2 may be suggesting about the Earths, and hes like "dude no" and i'm like "dude yes!" so we'll wait and see. Anyone see the JSA thread on Newsrama? LINKAGE! www.newsarama.com/dcnew/JSA/LevitzJSA.htmIt looks like something majors gonna go down! Hmmm.... Thoughts?

I'm thinking we might wind up with a 1 and 2, but not 2 instead of 1. Wouldn't it be cuckoo if we had an E-2 again and the modern JSA jumped planets?

They just keep getting better and better, don't they? ...but I can honestly say that the picture itself doesn't surprise me. I kind of figured that was coming down the pike.

Thoughts? to clarify, charlie was sayin they will pick up where earth 2 left off i said, "dude no" he said, "dude yes" my theory will be that they will fight a possesed superman of e2 and get in a major battle till he dies or something... but the idea is that there will be no changing or adding earths and i THINK that Brandon's is that there will be 2 earths at least by the end, earth 1 and 2 so anyone else wanna share theirs?

Well as soon as Superman 2 uttered that last line in IC2 I automatically thought the same thing...they're bringing back Earth 2. No sure how they're going to do it, but I really think they are. However, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if Superman 2 does end up dying while doing it.

heres my thing, though it seems like it would be good to bring back Earth 2 it would screw up the whole last ten years... like jade existing in e1 and having a romance with kyle... and the whole JSA on e1 and also the incredibly vast quantity of dead folk on E2, which is why i think e2 superman is offering the e1 bats to join him on e2 in jim lees cover. it just seems like there is somethin fishy goin on with e2 supes... now im MOST likely wrong (because i am 92.4 percent of the time wrong on my predictions) but that article about the perez 1 year later thing show old fashioned bats (oddly enough kickin it with a modernly drawn e2 supes) that kinda hints that there will be a new earth 2... but dc has has been really good at marketing this thing and keep people guessing, this could be planted, they could be pulling the wool over our eyes, doing the old switcheroo... if i only had a trenchcoat fedora and mask that hides my features...

*sigh* what i meant was, they are going to redo the earth melding, this time have Earth 2 as the main world, but having bits of Earth 1 in. That's what IC has told me so far...

I think everything might rest on Batman's decision in IC #3, which, judging by the Jim Lee cover for the same issue, is whether the return to his counterpart's life on E2 or not. If he chooses to do that, then I think it'll be a case of Alexander Luthor, Power Girl, E2 Superman, Superboy Prime, Batman, and any other 'convert' vs the heroes of E1. Perhaps, in the end, after realising how violent and dark the world is, the heroes will voluntarily restore E2.

i wonder though if the E1 batman could choose the life of the E2 bats... im with you all the way apprentice, batman has a huge influence on the rests of that universe and his decision will be key.
charlie... IC is lying to you...

The book speaks to me! It tells me to ki- What are we talking about? LMAO. The thing that worries me most about IC and the changing of the entire universe (again) is that, twenty years down the line, another fanboy will come along and say, "Heh. This Crisis changed things in a way that I didn't like. I think I'll go back and bring in elements of the first Post-Crisis Earth again." And pretty soon you have a never ending cycle that goes around every twenty years.

Guess it won't matter to me then. I'll be happy if I can still read and eat raw vegtables. see how easily I brought that right back around to vegtables again. ;D

One things that still puzzles me is Supergirl's comment about there being no word for 'escape' in Kryptonese. I was thinking in my mind, about a scene with Jor-El and Lara:
Lara: The planet is doomed? What shall we do?
Jor-El: We might be trapped on this planetary deathrap but our son, Kal-el, might be able to.... um what's the word...
Lara: Run away?
Jor-El:no.
Lara:Get out?
Jor-El:Not exactly.
Lara:Flee?
Jor-El:NO! He'll be flown off this planet so that he can.... ARGH! What's that damn word! [glow=black,4,3] *planet blows up*[/glow]

Ha!
Do you think that Earth 2 is necessary to balance the current Earth? And without the other "purer" Earth that the modern DCU has steadily slid into the dark side? Just an idea.
Crazy plan or not, it's always cool to see Golden Age Superman. I mean, that's the first superhero! For real!

I think you may be on to something there, KSM. I've got two theories about IC. Either they are gowing to bring back Earth 2 or Superman 2 is being played like a fine tuned violin by Alexander Luthor and he is going to end up doing the wrong thing for the wrong reason.

There is a nice synchronicity to the original Superman showing up now, just as they are redesigning the DCU--- though I kinda get the feeling it might be for a swan song.
I don't really have any predictions yet, except some skepticism about the return of the multiverse--- the DC PTB have been working 20 years to streamline their continuity, invested too much creativity (despite some boneheaded decisions, too) to turn their back on it now. Which is not to say that they won't or shouldn't make major changes (personally, I think Bruce Wayne as the Spectre is a neat idea, and Dick Grayson taking the mantle of the Bat is an ideal progression--- however unpopular that opinion may be!)...

yeah i think dc has spent too many sleepless nights tryin to build up this universe to start over completely. the thing that makes me think superman 2 is goin to go crazy and stuff to rebuild his earth is because he words it as if hes going to reset and bring the "right" earth back. and the idea of him being played by luther is intriguing indeed... i agree with david for the most part thought, itll be interesting to see the changes after the dust has settled but i doubt dc is gonna press the reset button... again.

Yep I agree too with that, I dunno if they would 'press the reset button' again but I suppose we shall have to see. Dick Grayson becoming Batman I think would be interesting but personally for me, I would think that would be kinda sad, I want Bruce to be Batman forever. No pun intended. The end. But that's just me. ^__^

By George I think I've got it!!!
Okay, either I'm on to something here or I'm totally off base, so just in case I'll make a spoiler space.... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Okay. Here's my new theory for the One Year Later. First I'll present the pieces of the puzzle. That'll be facts we know and rumors so again...
Spoilers!
Alright, so far we know that come Issue 5 of INFINITE CRISIS there will be a big shake-up company-wide. All the titles will go to One Year Later and creative teams will change.
Titles changes will know will happen: Wonder Woman and Flash will be cancelled and restarted and Hawkman will become Hawkgirl. Rumored titles and changes: Ion, Batwoman, a new Batman, a new WW, a new Flash, and it has been rumored there may no longer be a JLA.
Storywise in IC: Superman from Earth-2 is back and wants his Earth back. And we know that coming soon in JSA we'll see both Superman and Batman E-2.
SO! This is my guess. Come Issue 5 Kal-L gets his wish and the current DCU is reset to Earth 2! And One Year Later is going to show up what the E-2 will become. So, the original heroes have come and gone, then we had the generational heroes in Infinity Inc. but there was no second age of heroes. One Year Later will show the new age of heroes. Barry Allen didn't become the Flash on E-2 but maybe his grandson, Bart Allen, does! Donna Troy becomes the new Wonder Woman. A second generation Grayson or third generation Wayne takes up the Mantle of the Bat. Hal Jordan doesn't get the ring, but maybe Kyle Rayner of Earth 2 becomes Ion. And so on.
One Year Later will give us a current vision of Earth 2 with all new heroes in familiar titles, sort of like Marvel's 'Heroes Reborn' or 'Age of Apocalypse'. The catch though could be that when all is said and done, this reality won't disappear. After IC is finished I suspect we'll have Earth 1 back and the continuity close to what we've known for the last decade or so but with some fixes, but now we'll have an Earth-2 as well. Part of the interesting aspect of this will be that in the past, Earth-2 has always looked to the heroes of yesteryear, but now will stand for a forward looking Earth with younger, newer heroes (and a place where DC can take some chances that they can't take with their regular titles). This would also justify the 52 series as to set up the stage that Earth-2 will function under for now on.
Well, what do you think? Does it sound like a worthwhile theory or is it complete rubbish? I'm not sure which it is but it sure made sense when I thought about it last night. Ha.

Wow. Now that's a theory! It actually makes sense to me and would make 52 sound a heck of a lot more interesting and worth buying. I think it is as sound a concept as any I've heard yet. But no JLA?
