A great story, wonderful twists...then it kind of pratfalls at the end. "DIIIIIEEEE!!!!" indeed. Kind of ruined it.
So...how long until we get the full story about Bruce and the League of Assassins? ;D

I just saw "American Psycho" for the first time a few nights ago (if you've never seen it, go get it, Christian Bale makes a great yuppie serial killer!), and in this issue while Batman was detailing when Zsasz was finally outed and he wiped out a whole boardroom of people, I kept picturing Bale doing it...and since he also plays Batman onscreen, it was a little weird. Anyways, the story...absolutely perfect! Yes, a little Question-heavy, but I enjoy the way Charlie does him so much, I can't complain. As for Bats being too moody...sometimes I like that, and sometimes I wish he'd lighten up. In this story, moody works -- with Vic going off the way he was, Bats had to counterbalance it -- but I do hope him and Vicki get to have a relationship in the future. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to feed a stray cat into the ATM... ;D

Yes, the singing was great, as was threatening to show Bats the glitter collage he made. This Question is a tad more off-the-wall than the one in his own book, but I figure he's just trying to offset Batman's grim n' gritty style. Well done, Charlie, keep 'em coming!

Geez, how can you guys keep this up?!? You took what could have been a hokey speech (reminded me a bit of "Independence Day", but in a good way) and sold it perfectly -- I could see Bruce in my head, bloodied and bruised, speaking into a minicam with such conviction and force that flecks of spittle were coming off his lips. YOU DO NOT SCREW WITH HIS CITY, DAMMIT! And yes, Didio should be afraid of us and what we're accomplishing around here, and not just during IXE, but all the time -- I propose that, when we reach our 5th year, all of us storm the DC offices and stage a coup. ;D

Well, I went back and finished it, as promised. I still think you could have done better, but you're right, you didn't copy it fully. I'm sorry if you thought I was implying plagiarism -- since the Clayface many know is the cartoon one, it's the best place to start, I just thought you could have done more with it than you did. Maybe less summarizing and glossing over scenes. Despite this, I do look forward to seeing your name on other projects -- don't let me discourage you.

I'm sorry to say that I didn't finish reading this. While your writing style is good, your plotline is nearly identical to his origin in the Batman cartoon -- I saw every move, every scene, in my head before I read it. Once we got to finding Matt in the car, I decided to quit. Perhaps you got really innovative afterward, and if you did, go ahead and put me in my place. I do realize that, due to the nature of fanfic, there is a small amount of rehash involved in some of the stories, but this thing, up to the point where I stopped, almost reads like an episode summary.
I welcome you to correct me on this -- if you make a good enough argument, I'll go back and finish it, I promise.

;D BAT-MITE LIVES!!! ;D The absolute LAST character I expected to see in this story, and one that makes me giggle when I do see 'im. The idea of Bat-Mite being a computer virus is genius (and yes, I did look for him in the KC book -- right above the big red button, he is!) and I hope he turns up again. Better yet, let's make him a lil' robot body so he can flutter around like in that B:TAS episode! "Greetings, Dynamic Duo! I'm your biggest fan!"

Your style's improving, HoM, which I'm glad to see -- you're bursting with ideas, it's just the execution of them that needs practice. Still a couple of muddled spots (the death certificate and revealing Nigma's true identity -- at first I thought you meant he was Arthur Brown) but again, improvement all around. I liked Alfred's "Get me a sandwich" line. ;D Great cover by DetectiveBats -- that green really grabs your eye. BTW Bruce isn't wearing shit anymore, he cleaned it off and put on a shirt, I checked.

Your ideas are good -- like the unique take on Metallo -- but you need to work on dialogue more, I think. Some of it just doesn't suit the characters. And the multipile 1st-person views is distracting -- stick with it being Batman-only.

It's good, but I feel like it's losing cohesion -- we're bouncing all over the place, rushing through some scenes. I liked you sneaking in "Captain Savage" (what, no airline jobs in Opal City? ). I'll stick with it, though.

Bray-vo! Bray-vo! (sticks fingers in her mouth and whistles) I likes me some Batman, so I read your story first. I'll keep coming back if you keep writing!

Charlie, I love/hate/envy/admire you for the way you brought back Jay. I really thought he was dead all this time. Good job psyching me out there, my man.
Oh, and the rest of the story wasn't bad either. ;D

Yeah, that's the #1 problem with DC2: you can't take the issues in the bathroom. ;D
Good story, but I think we could have skipped all the mystery. I know that's your thing, Charlie, but I was expecting a straightforward funeral. Liked the bit with the Golden Age guys sneaking in just a little piece of their secret IDs, "for old time's sake."

This death came at me outta left field -- while I had heard certain rumors going about months ago, I misunderstood them, so I still got a surprise. Good work, Cholly-boy, you sure know how to kill folks.

For the record, a2uton, both WEIRD WESTERN QUARTERLY and LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES feature timelines under their respective Secret Files sections, outlining important events in each title which may differ from "official" DC history. Perhaps the writers of some of DC2's other "historical" books like DANGER TRAIL and JSA might do the same if you pose your question directly to them, either in PM form or in their lettercols.

Hey, I originally suggested this team-up in the letter column to Teen Titans #10. I wanna see some of your thoughts on it. Here's what I wrote: Why don't you guys have the Titans team-up with KISS?! That would rule! ;D Action, adventure, rock 'n' roll, and Gene Simmons nailing Starfire. Thank Susan Hillwig for the inspiration. Wait a minute, all this time I've known you, all the work I've done here and on Paperfilms and the DCMB, and it takes an offhand KISS reference to inspire you? Crap in a hat, I've gotta try harder... Besides, we all know that the Starchild or Space-Ace should get first dibs on Starfire. The Demon can have raise Hell with Raven, and the Cat-Man will have to settle for Beast Boy. ;D
